Good News – The Pity Party is Over
That’s right no more excuses or tears over the burdened economy, it is time to prepare to conquer success. We are taking the bull by the horn, and Wall Street CEOs by the $alls by becoming proactive warriors, so let’s start the dance.
Renovance, the company who invented the Reality TrainingTM format with great success continues to move ahead with the same smart logic. After running a nationwide survey on the changing habits of photographers in these dire times, they realized marketing knowledge and ways to increase revenues are at the top of the list of professional photographers. So they started an in-depth research, online and offline, tapping the most renowned names and the unknown cyber-geniuses to try to figure out a plan of action that could help photographers across the nation.
Three months later Claudio Basso and Sheri Scinto are launching their new program and a promise that the step by step guide to unleash your personal brand will produce concrete results for every photographer’s business.
“That is – says Sheri – only if you are willing to roll up your sleeves. Opportunity is out there but many miss it because it comes dressed in overalls and it looks like work. That was by Edison”.
So why MarkeAthing? Don’t you guys have a spell check?
In these troubled days of down economy we are all submerged by emails of self defined marketing gurus who swear to have the proven solution to your problems. Those people may get some traffic, I actually call it despair traffic, but I guarantee you when the economy turns around they will be the first victims of a much deserved cleanup.
Our approach is entirely different. The first thing you need to figure out is “What is you are best at?” then stick to it. Make a serious commitment to that one thing and don’t pollute it or dilute it with another ten things that you are just okay at. It is much better to be excellent at one thing than mediocre at many. If you are not ready to marry your best capability you are just going to continue to feel like being swept away by a tornado, spinning and spinning, not even knowing where you are. Remember market one thing.
In this intense course Claudio delivers the roadmap to unleashing the power of your personal brand. From strategy down to writing successful material and creating concrete returns on a small budget. To wrap it all up, Claudio offers you a treasure of online resources to help you in conquering success. Learn from a master of photography who has succeeded across four continents and has survived three recessions.
It all starts from understanding who we are, defining ourselves – says Claudio. Try it out. Ask any photographer who are you? What is your profession? And the answer will come as a no brainer – I am a photographer… Wrong, dead wrong! You are marketers of your photography skills. The sooner you will understand this concept, the sooner you will start making more money. One time, one participant asked me “Claudio at what point can I consider myself a professional photographer?” My answer was “The day you will earn your first dollar with your pictures”. That day, it’s not a hobby anymore, it’s a profession. You create products and services that need to be sold. That is why you turn into a full time marketer of yourself.
Now who can tell me the difference between a client and a customer? What about between being efficient and effective? These are some of the challenges that Claudio throws out at his students.
A client buys a service and a customer buys a product. So who do we deal with, customers or clients? The answer is both and sometimes a client can be a customer as well. When we offer to cover a wedding, we are offering a service. When the client then orders 200 extra prints with frames, he becomes a customer.
It is important to understand the difference as it impacts the definition of your purpose, your goals and the techniques you will implement in your marketing.
Talking about implementing your marketing plan Claudio makes a strong distinction between being efficient and effective. Efficient is a good employee who does the job you ask him to do within the time frame allocated. The purpose of the action is on completing the job and within time. Being effective requires a complete different mind set. You are effective when you invest efforts and time on a job that is supposed to achieve a result. The purpose of the action is on the effectiveness of the results.
You are then guided by the hand into defining your purpose, vision and goals. With all of this cleared up Claudio then moves into strategies and techniques to identify your best prospects, contacting them and turning them into clients.
The afternoon takes off on Conquering Success. This is a true step by step guide. How to write successful ads and sales letters, the real secret to a powerful referral program, how to implement up-sells and down-sells properly are all analyzed in detail.
At this point some may ask “But we live in the Web 2.0 era, what about that?” Claudio reserves an entire section of his program to this aspect and calls it Let’s Go Online. Websites, search engines, eblasts and social networking. From his personal experience, the two are the tribes on social networking. The ones who have no life and suffer from early abandonment and spend all day posting online every action they take during the day, and those who are serious about connecting with a business purpose. Don’t worry he will give you his tricks on how to go through the online jungle. Sheri reinforces the concept by adding “After all, that is exactly how we launched Renovance and acquired our customers”. So I guess these guys know a thing or two about Google and friends.
The gem of the program is a bountiful list of amazing resources for photographers to continue their own research and education about marketing, delivered by RTV at the closing of the program with their invitation to stay in touch.
That is right. Because once you participate in a Reality TrainingTM you become a member of the Elite group which entitles you to a discount on future programs, exclusive pre-sales and other benefits.
As Claudio promises MarkeAthing will become your personal GPS – global prosperity system.

About Renovance.tv – as described by Sheri Scinto, executive producer
We spent two years traveling across the country, running seminars and workshops. We met hundreds of keen photographers and listened to their comments, ideas and visions. The many pages of great feedback helped us immensely in identifying how the digital revolution impacted this wonderful passion for many, business for some. Photography has not changed. We still find pleasure in capturing a moment, being occasional or created, and enjoy emotional reward in perpetuating it. We love it because it allows us to beat time, bring back the emotion of the moment and share it with others.
Technology has changed. It made photography accessible to many more of us but more importantly it made it easier, faster, better and less expensive. However, revolutions always come at a price. Today’s technology is growing at such a fast pace that one may spend more time reading manuals than taking pictures. We know that many of today’s photographers feel lost between technology and technique. Things should be kept as simple as they can be to allow the achievement of our aspirations. That way we can focus on results and not on how to get there. And it would be great if we can have fun while we are doing it, because yesterday will never be tomorrow.
The difference between education and training is the real world. The acquisition of knowledge becomes relevant only to the extent of the use we make of it. The rest is pure academics which become culture if we decide to make it a part of us, let it be our choice. Let technology become the servant of creativity and not the other way around. Sharing is a clear sign of power. From the time of the ancient Greeks humans have enjoyed the benefit of debating and confronting opinions and ideas. They used to do it in the Agora’, the local square, today we enjoy the comfort of our couch and sleepers while we click the mouse. Belonging to a community is also important, we know that. That is why we created Renovance.tv.
