Olympus Visionary Eli Reed is going to Fort Hood with PDMA Portraits of Love to take free family portraits to send to deployed soldiers around the globe this holiday season.
Whether he is on a movie set photographing celebrities, in the White House with Barack Obama, or leading classes at the University of Texas at Austin, Olympus Visionary and Magnum photographer Eli Reed is capturing history— and making it—with an Olympus camera in hand. An Olympus Visionary since 2003, Reed began his photojournalism career almost 40 years ago and became a Magnum photographer in 1988. Later that year, he photographed the effects of poverty on America’s children for a film documentary called Poorest in the Land of Plenty, narrated by Maya Angelou. In the 1990s and 2000s, Reed took iconic photographs of celebrities including Russell Crowe, Ice Cube, Tupac Shakur, Tyra Banks and Eminem on the sets of major motion pictures like 8 Mile, A Beautiful Mind, and Poetic Justice.
